Minimising the risk of cancer could just be a walk in the park, literally. National Runners’ and Walkers’ Health Studies collected data on 111,266 runners and 42,136 walkers. The data was then analysed by researchers to compare physical activity with the risk of developing brain cancer. The study found that the more metabolic equivalent used up from either running or walking, the lower the risk of death from brain cancer.
